My 27th Birthday

My birthday was amazing and I truly felt loved by my honey, kids, and my friends. It started with breakfast in bed, my FAVORITE breakfast, triple grande non fat no whip pumpkin spice latte and a chocolate croissant from starbucks :P Yes, the hubby made an early morning run to starbucks and arranged it on a plate but my little babies didn't think that was good enough so they wanted to add some "homemade items." Alyssa made me a delish nutella toast, and AJ, well, he added some raspberries to round off the meal in a more healthy way ;)
I had already received a pretty awesome birthday present the day before, an Iphone 5, so I wasn't thinking I'd get too much more than that on my actual b-day. I.was.wrong.!!
We like to give presents first thing in the morning in this family, and I was more nervous this morning because for the first time ever, the hubby braved getting gifts with OUT my help. Let me just explain this about my hubby, he is the stereotypical man in this department where he is known to be an absolutely terrible gift giver. He is well aware of this and it's because of it that he has always asked me what I've wanted to perhaps "splurge" on myself and he then picks something from there. This time, I didn't really tell him anything because I wanted him to try on his own. I was VERY happy to see that he got me something I needed; a wallet, ( as my poor 2 year old juicy couture wallet was falling apart) and a few things I didn't "need" but definitely LOVED, a new purse AND a new fragrance set. I am not as big of a collector of perfumes as my mom is, but I do love me some delicious smelling perfumes. I do believe a woman can never have too many purses so, seeing that new bag, in a color I didn't already have was a MUCH welcome sight. ;) The man did GOOD. I thought, at this point, we are done with presents and could just hang out at home and be laid back for the rest of the day but he had other plans for us.

He told me I could go on a shopping trip and get some much needed clothes to help my severely lacking "fall wardrobe". I loved what I got, and I loved that he was amazing and took care of both kids while I shopped 'till I dropped. I didn't take a picture of those gifts, but low and behold, my sneaky 5 year old was snapping pictures on my new phone and I saw this:

How funny she got a picture of some of the shopping bags, "perfect for my blog" I thought :)
After shopping all day long, I was exhausted but hubby had planned to take the kids and I out to our (used to be) favorite sushi restaurant for dinner. So we went and we met up with my closest girlfriend, Kelly and her girls :) I'll keep the bad part of this to a minimum and just say that rickey and I had been to this restaurant a billion times before this night just us, and the ONE time we bring someone to the place, everything except the food was awful. We won't ever be going back but we did at least have wonderful company and had a great time, despite the restaurant's shortcomings. I'm so bummed we didn't think to take any pictures at the restaurant but I did take a picture of her great gift she gave me.

After dinner, we went back home and Rickey and the kids sang happy birthday to me and we enjoyed some yummy and naughty cake. We tried to document the moment with pictures and I can honestly say that we are absolutely horrible at self-portraits LOL. here are a few funny pictures but I loved all the pictures. I really felt super special and I appreciate everything my family (and friends) did for me on my birthday. <3
